1st Limpopo/ Gauteng SAAPS Regional Colloquium


Theme: “Debating the pace of transformation in South Africa after 23 years of Democratisation: Local and Global Perspectives”

The School of Social Sciences in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Limpopo, together with the University of Venda, will host the 1st Limpopo/ Gauteng SAAPS Regional Colloquium under the theme:Debating the pace of transformation in South Africa after 23 years of Democratisation: Local and Global Perspectives”

The conference aims to bring together political thinkers in Limpopo, Gauteng and beyond to discuss the state of transformation in universities and society of South Africa as a whole. The conference is inspired by philosophies, ideologies and narratives that ponder a variety of questions under the theme: “Debating the pace of transformation in South Africa after 23 years of Democratisation: Local and Global Perspectives”SAAPS notes the calls for the decolonisation of higher education sector in South Africa as advocated by students, which bears an incomplete impact on the transformation agenda, especially with its relation to socio-economic features.
