The following Academic position is available at EMBURY DURBAN MUSGRAVE CAMPUS
Lecturer: Afrikaans/ English reporting directly to the Head of Department: Languages

Job requirements:

Lecturing experience in Afrikaans and English
Knowledge and understanding of the Afrikaans and English CAPS documents for Foundation and Intermediate Phase
Act as a tutor to distance learning students
Experience in blended learning and of virtual learning environments
Provide a supportive and stimulating teaching and learning environment of 21st Century learning and supports students on their learning journey
Continually involve self in research and current educational topics to update and improve module content and delivery
Create suitable study letters, tests and examinations, and engage in moderation processes
Participate in meetings
Undertake relevant administrative duties
Engage in curriculum and programme development studies
Lecturing and/or teaching experience in the ECD and Foundation Phase a requirement

Minimum Requirements:

- Specialisation and experience in ECD/Foundation Phase and/or Intermediate Phase is essential
- Minimum Honours in Bachelor of Education or equivalent degree and PGCE
- Experience in Tertiary Education an advantage
- Computer Literate
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of excellent time management and administrative skills
- Ability to cope with change
- Experience in Curriculum and Materials Development an advantage
