2019 Festo Events Marketing Intern Opportunities

A vacancy exists for Marketing Co-ordinator internship with a focus on events.

a. Key accountability
The Events Marketing Coordinator oversees the planning, implementation and execution of conferences, meetings, seminars, and other events in-line with budgetary requirements, marketing strategies and the Festo brand.
b. Summary of job contents
• Assist with compiling annual plan, budget and schedules for events for the year.
• Provide accurate reports and analysis to demonstrate effective return on investment (ROI) and manage KPIs (key performance indicators) for events. Make recommendations for improvement based on results.
• Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
• Manage the event database, capture leads and assist with lead generation activities and follow-ups for events.
• Responsible for all event related activities associated with campaigns & customer events in support of Marketing Product Manager and sales activities.
• Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help management make decisions about event possibilities.
• Brief stand builders on company requirements and provide outline/examples for stand designs.
• Negotiate with event suppliers (for space contracts, book event space, etc.) to achieve the best placement/pricing for Festo.
• Coordinate on-site arrangements for all meetings and events: arrange food and beverages, order supplies and audio-visual equipment, ensure appropriate décor, etc.
• Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
• Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary.
• Prepare nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
• Co-ordinate product displays for events (booking, setting up, transporting, etc.).
• Co-ordinate staff & external supplier participation for events. Send out relevant
information details prior to event. Conduct on-site meetings.
• Communicate event benefits and activities by conducting training for all staff involved in an event.
• Co-ordinate travel for staff for events.
• Keep track of event finances including invoicing, and reporting.
• Complete stand-breakdown after each event.
• Conduct post-show event meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Work with the digital and graphic co-ordinators to create event-related content (copy, images, graphics, video, content etc.) to generate pre- and post-show publicity across various platforms (Website, social media platforms, industry publications, etc.).
• Assist distributors/ resellers with implementing the proper Festo brand/CI for their events when required.
• Work with the graphic co-ordinator to source appropriate imageryfrom internal and external databases for event requirements.
• Contribute to company and industry blogs.
• Manage the Expotainer and Eduvan (vehicle & equipment booking, accommodation booking, driver co-ordination and management, etc.).
• Assist with the co-ordination and management of demonstration case bookings.
• Manage all sponsorships and donations in-line with budgetary requirements.
• Keep up to date with current event trends.
• Assist with general marketing co-ordination support for internal and external stakeholders when required.


1. Qualifications/Requirements/experience
Qualifications 

  • BCom Digital Marketing Degree/equivalent or other relevant tertiary qualification (i.e. IMM, Vega, etc.) Short course on event management will be an advantage.

Requirements

  • Experience using Survey Monkey and Mailchimp. MS Office package including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook essential Knowledge of design packages an advantage (i.e. Photoshop, Adobe Editor)
  • Previous experience with SharePoint and SAP an advantage Excellent communication skills (fluent in English. Afrikaans is an advantage) Enthusiastic team player

Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in events management Strong understanding of event marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
