Opportunity Description

99 Loop Gallery is looking to hire an admin and sales assistant to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate would be people-oriented, intuitive and highly motivated to learn about exhibition design and the practicalities around it.

This position focuses on administration, logistics and sales. A willingness and capacity for this, as well as a friendly demeanor, are important.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibition and installations assistance
  • Client liaison
  • Logistics
  • Artwork administration
  • Social media planning
  • Correspondence with artists
  • Front of house
  • General administration
  • Inventory management
  • Art handling/packaging
  • Writing about exhibitions

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification
  • Experience in the field
  • Advanced computer literacy/acquaintance with the Adobe suite
  • Bilingual
  • A strong work ethic, self-motivated, takes initiative

Working hours:

Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 17:00
Saturdays: 10:00 – 14:00

Additional hours during prep, openings, First Thursdays and fairs will be required.

Salary: Dependent on experience.
