Astral Apprenticeship Programme 2017

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Obtained Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science, or Technical Matric;
  • National Technical Certificate – N3 or higher in the relevant engineering discipline;
  • He/she must be ambitious and dedicated, making full use of the opportunities the industry has to offer;
  • Must be a team player;
  • High energy level and action orientated;
  • Mental alertness, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Conceptual skills:
  • The succesful candidate will be required to enter a formal learnership agreement with the company and the AgriSETA.

Job Specification…

The key performance areas of these Apprenticeship positions are:

  • Participate in the formal training plan for the apprenticeship; make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in this regard; attend the necessary training or assessments related hereto;
  • perform duties required and make reasonable progress to achived the competencies in the training plan;
  • As instructed, undertake and attend any training or assesment related to the training plan;
  • Keep the training record (logbook) in possession, and produce it to the employer and/or training organisation, when requested;
  • Acknowledge that all workplace instructions and other material that comes into the apprentice’s possession, as a result of training, remains the property of employer;
  • Maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices under guidance of qualified Artisans/Technicians;
  • Obey all workplace health and safety (including dress and equipment) and code of conduct workplace rules;
  • The successful candidate will be required to enter a formal learnership agreement with the company and Agriseta.
