PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS

DHET BURSARY FOR TVETC

1.ONLINE APPLICATIONS

  • The College is using the online application system for all DHET Bursary Scheme applications
  • Applications for new applicants are now open
  • The closing date for the next academic session online application process is on 30 November this year.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply at the three College Campuses namely; East London Campus, St Marks Campus and John Knox Bokwe Campus
  • Applicants are advised to visit the Student Support Services Unit at Campuses for assistance when applying online
  • Walk ins will be considered during January registration process, but priority will be given to applicants that applied last year
  • Please note that a checklist for all the required documentation from the applicant/s is available at Campuses and on the College Facebook Page and the College Website (www.bccollege.co.za)
  • Please be informed that Buffalo City TVET College has limited Student Bursary Funds

2.BURSARY ALLOCATION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Allocation of bursaries is on the basis of academic performance, greatest financial need and class attendance
  • Accommodation – The College will be responsible for only accommodating students who qualify for accommodation at the College Residences
  • Buffalo City TVET College will not be responsible for any private accommodation

 

  1. Priority for the accommodation will be given to existing students who are financially needy and academically deserving
  2. Parents / guardians are encouraged to make arrangements and take responsibility for finding and financing private accommodation for their children who are not successful for College Accommodation
  3. Only financially deserving and academically performing students will be granted NSFAS bursaries for tuition, transport and accommodation subject to availability of funds
  4. Kindly note that Buffalo City TVET College is not in a financial position to provide free tuition, accommodation and transport.
