This campus was named in honour of Steve Biko who was allegedly killed by the security police during the liberation struggle in South Africa and is the main DUT campus. A bronze bust of Biko was unveiled at the campus in 2007. It is situated between Steve Biko road and the N3 motorway in Berea.
The Steve Biko Campus is the home of the Durban University of Technology Gallery and can be found in the Cecil Tenaud Theatre above the Library.
The gallery supports the Faculty of Arts with its primary aim of educating and serving the art community with the aid of research and visual arts.
