CSIR 2018 Bursary / Scholarship Programme

The CSIR hereby invites bursary application from talented young people wishing to pursue o career in research, technology development and innovation. The CSIR Bursary Programme is open to academically qualifying young people and also aims to attract and increase participation of women and black people in science, engineering and technology, specifically in the areas of:

  • Electronic Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

If you area South African citizen successfully pursuing an engineering degree at o South African university or o Grade 12 Learner aiming to study for o degree in engineering in 2018, the CSIR bursary is for you.

This is a comprehensive bursary thot covers all the costs associated with university studies, such as:

Registration fees; Tuition Fees; Books; Accommodation; Living Allowance;  Laptop Allowance

Requirements

Grade 12 learners:

  • Must be South African citizen
  • A minimum of o Level 5 for English First Language or Level 4 for English Second Language
  • Preferably level 6 for Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Enrol (or BSc or BEng full-time at a public tertiary institution

University students:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have passed al courses for which you have registered at the university for the study period already completed

Your application must include:

  • June / July results if you are in Grade 12
  • Academic record if you are a university student
  • Grade 12 final results if you have completed Grade 12
