CUT 2019 Application Form

Applications for 2019 will reopen in May/June 2018.

On or before: 31 August 2018 | Application Fee

On or before: 30 September 2018 (Late applications) | Late Application Fee

  • International Students for assistance contact the International Office.
  • Grade 12 Learners: Only June 2018 results will be considered for 2019 applications.

Any person applying for admission to the CUT must request an application form from the Assistant Registrar: Academic Structure and Student Enrolment Services at the following address:

Intake Cycles

  • Applications for the following year will open in April of each year; closing date is end of August.
  • Applications for the second semester will open in March of each year; closing date is end of May. Please note only selected programmes have a second semester intake.

Application feedback

  • Applications for January of each year, are processed following the July (2nd semester) intake. Processing starts at the beginning of August.
  • Allow for a 4 to 6 week period for feedback from date of application.
  • You can use the online system to Check Application Status.

On the 6th of July 2016, the then Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Bonginkosi Emmanuel Nzimande, announced in the Government Gazette No: 40123_801 (“Government Notice”) that 31 December 2019 is the last date for enrolling first time entering students into academic programmes that are not aligned with the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework (“HEQSF”). 

This Government notice affects all National Diploma (“NDip”) programmes and Baccalaureus Technologiae (“BTech”) degree programmes offered by faculties at the Central University of Technology, Free State (“CUT”).

Based on the above, no first-time entering student will be enrolled into the BTech degree from January 2020 onwards. Students may approach the relevant department for information about the new HEQSF aligned qualifications to pursue after completing a diploma.
