The Department of Accounting is accredited by and involved in the education of accountants for the following professional bodies:
• South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)

• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

The Department of Accounting offers the following programmes:
• BCom Accounting (CA Stream)
• BCom Financial Accounting
• Advanced Diploma in Accounting (ADA)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA)
• Master of Commerce (Accounting)
The Department of Accounting consists of a group of dedicated staff members in the various specialised areas.

The Department of Accounting is divided into four sections, namely: Auditing, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Financial Management and Taxation.
