| Job Purpose | Group Five Coastal in KwaZulu-Natal requires a Site Agent I to implement and maintain effective management of all contracts by monitoring progress as per program, achievement of productivity; financial performance and control, and contractual non-conformance. |
| Qualifications | B Tech or University Degree Civil Engineering/Construction Management |
| Experience | 10 – 20 years post qualification Civil Engineering / Construction Management experience in a Senior Site Manager environment Multi-disciplinary experience will be an advantage Industrial Civil project experience would be an advantage |
| Duties & Responsibilities | Contract planning and programming Apply and monitor stringent cost controls Ensure contractual compliance, manage and resolve contractual issues Communicate at all levels Select and appoint sub-contractors and manage associated contractual obligations and compliance. Prepare accurate and monthly cost reports Calculate required quantities to maximize revenue/profit |
| Skills and Knowledge | Business and Financial Acumen Good MS Excel knowledge Contracting suite documents (NEC, GCC, FIDIC) Budget preparation Knowledge of operational construction processes Able to accurately assess actual quantities and liabilities of work done Building and Construction industry trend |
| Additional Information | 10 – 20 years experience as Senior Site Manager preferably having run multiple projects with a value in excess of R100 million A Thorough understanding of all aspects of construction from minor earthworks to water works including reservoirs, pipelines and wastewater treatment plants. Previous contractual involvement; Parastatals, ED Mentorship, Manage Multiple Contracts, Fast track projects and MEIP Contracts |
