International Business Training College(IBTC) ICB Financial Accounting Foundation Level

The Foundation Level is the entry route into the Financial Accounting Programme. If you do not qualify for recognition of prior learning (RPL), you will enter the programme here. The Foundation Level consists of four subjects. Upon completion of all four subjects you will be awarded a National Certificate: Bookkeeping.

Entry requirements

Students who wish to enroll for the ICB’s Financial Accounting Programme are required to have Grade 10 (Std 8) or an equivalent qualification, and must be at least 16 years old. No prior accounting knowledge is required.

International Business Training College(IBTC) ICB Financial Accounting Intermediate Level

The Intermediate Level consists of two subjects which can be completed once you have completed the Foundation Level (unless you received recognition of prior learning for the Foundation Level subjects). Upon completion you will be awarded a Further Education and Training Certificate: Bookkeeping.

Financial Statements

This subject covers recording business financial transactions, depreciable assets, finalisation and interpretation of accounts, financial statements of the sole proprietorship, partnerships, internal reporting for corporate entities, an introduction to IFRS for SMMEs, the statement of cash flows and sundry topics in financial accounting.

Cost and Management Accounting

This subject covers an introduction to managerial accounting, controlling inventory and overhead costs, accounting for a manufacturing enterprise, job costing, budgeting and standard costing, contract accounting, process costing and financial management.
