FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
ACCOUNTING & LAW DEPARTMENT
LECTURER (P8) / JUNIOR LECTURER (P9)

Key Performance Areas:
 Lecture in Public Financial Management and Public Sector Project Management.
 Liaise with business partners or related industries to ensure relevant course
materials are updated.
 Participate in curriculum development.
 Conduct relevant research and publish in accredited journals.
 Present papers at national and international conferences.
 Engage in community engagement activities.
 Perform departmental administrative duties and other academic duties assigned by
the Head of Department.

Requirements: (For a Lecturer)
 Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Master of Business Administration (with
Public Administration qualification).
 At least two (2) years teaching experience or three (3) years industrial experience.
 Must be able to lecture in the day and evening programme.
 Computer literate (MS office suite).

Requirements: (For a Junior Lecturer)
 Honours Degree in Public Administration.
 At least two (2) years teaching experience or two (2) years industrial experience.
 To be considered for appointment at Junior Lecturer level the applicant must show
progress achieved in Public Administration above the minimum qualifications
required. If studies towards a Master’s Degree in
Public Administration are in progress, an acknowledgement letter from the
supervisor for the submission of a dissertation is required.
 Must be able to lecture in the day and evening programme,
 Computer literate (MS office suite).

Recommendations:
 Teaching qualification.
 Ability to teach Public Sector Management Information Systems.
 Familiarity with quality aspects of higher education.
 Pastel Accounting and payroll certification.

Salary range:
Lecturer – R319 7498.00 – R493 753.00 (P8) basic salary per annum.
Junior Lecturer – R267 766.00 – R372 749.00 (P9) basic salary per annum.
