The Cape Gallery is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as a Marketing Assistant.

MARKETING ASSISTANT POSITION AT THE CAPE GALLERY, CAPE TOWN

The Cape Gallery seeks to expose fine art that is rooted in the South African tradition, work which carries the unique cultural stamp of our continent.

We are in search of a dynamic individual to fill the position of Marketing Assistant. The candidate will be responsible for all marketing collateral in addition to other responsibilities outlined below. The ideal candidate should be detail orientated, deadline driven and self-motivated. As the position involves working in a public space and assisting with sales while completing other tasks, professional confidence and multitasking are essential in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and maintain collateral for print, digital, email and social media marketing
  • Photograph, photo edit and catalogue artworks
  • Maintenance of the gallery website
  • Admin involved in organizing exhibitions; ensuring that deadlines are met and material is of an acceptable standard
  • Hang exhibitions
  • General admin – assisting with sales queries, consigning work and packing when necessary (particularly on Saturdays)

Requirements:

  • A tertiary Fine Art qualification resulting in a good knowledge and interest in the field of Fine Art
  • Experience working with Dreamweaver
  • A working knowledge of DTP software:
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Indesign
  • Good written and communication skills

Advantageous:

  • Experience working with WordPress blogs

Working hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 08h30 – 17h00
  • Saturday: 10h00 – 14h00
  • One evening per month until 9pm for First Thursday
  • 2 weekdays and 1 Saturday off per month
