Objectives of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Reserve System
RESERVE FORCE OBJECTIVES
- The Reserve Force is structured, educated, trained, equipped and utilised to enhance the operational outputs of the SANDF.
- The Reserve Force provides the SANDF with the ability to expand rapidly and respond to crises when the need arises.
- The Reserve Force enhances close ties with the communities of South Africa and in so doing enhances the concept of good civil military relations.
- The Reserve Force contributes to nation building and the achievement of national goals through participation in all military operations as well as operations other than war.
- The Reserve Force participates in and enhances the achievement of all the military strategic objectives.
- The Reserve Force provides South Africa with a cost effective, sustainable defence capacity in accordance with Government policy prescripts.
