Personal Assistant Intern Opportunity Available at Sanlam

Sanlam is a leading financial services group, originally established as a life insurance company in 1918. The Sanlam Group conducts its business through Sanlam Limited, the corporate head office and four business clusters. The corporate head office is responsible for the Groups’ centralised functions such as strategic direction, financial and risk management, marketing and communications, Group human resources and corporate social investment (CSI). The four business cluster include; Sanlam Personal Finance, Sanlam Investments, Sanlam Emerging Markets and Santam.

Position Description

Internship

  • Period: Uninterrupted on a Fixed Term Contract from 1 February 2017 – 31 January 2018

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform secretarial duties for one or more manager/consultant/department
    • Manage diaries
    • Language editing support
    • Arrangement of video conferences
    • Assist with PowerPoint presentations
    • Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Perform administrative tasks or delegated tasks
    • Ensure manager/consultant is equipped with necessary documentation to proceed with meetings
    • Typing of documents
    • Assistance with all logistics of special events/meetings etc.
    • Assist with payment of invoices
    • Provide manager with information/policies to resolve queries
    • Assistance with office supplies where needed
    • Support with managing office infrastructure and services
  • Manage client calls to meet their expectations
    • Act as an ambassador for department when attending to clients
  • Ad hoc requests and projects in department

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • 3 Year relevant Diploma/Degree in Office management/Secretarial field

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Additonal Requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 34
  • Not already or previously funded by another Inseta Internship funded programme.
  • Display a high level of confidentiality
  • Be available and prepared to work after hours
