ABOUT THE BURSAR

The South African Pharmaceutical Association was founded in 1885 by a team of 7 pharmacists – this lead to the creation of other pharmaceutical societies across the country and thereafter the birth of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA) in 1946.

UNDERGRADUATE BURSARY

ABOUT THE BURSARY

The Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (FPE), as part of the PSSA are offering bursary awards to undergraduate students, studying within the pharmacy at a recognised tertiary institution. Awarding of the bursary will be based on mainly financial criteria, however applicants are still required to fulfill academic criteria.

ELIGIBILITY

Only applicants meeting the following minimum criteria may apply:

  • South African citizen,
  • Pharmacy student (from second year onwards),
  • Achieved a minimum average pass mark of 60% and passed all subjects,
  • Family income is less than R130 000 per annum (before tax).

Please include the following supporting documents with your complete application form:

  • SA ID document (certified copy),
  • Copy of academic results,
  • Parents/ guardians proof of income.

POSTGRADUATE BURSARY

ABOUT THE BURSARY

The South African Association of Hospital and Institutional Pharmacists (SAAHIP) is a sector of the PSSA who are offering postgraduate bursaries to full-time postgraduate students studying within the pharmacy sector.

ELIGIBILITY

Only applicants meeting the following minimum criteria may apply:

  • South African citizen,
  • Full-time pharmacy students (enrolled in a School of Pharmacy),
  • PSSA member,
