ADMINISTRATIVE PRE-REGISTRATION ON ROSS

Minimize the time you take to register by pre-registering.  You then take the express registration queue as you only need to sign the registration form and have your student card updated.  Pre-registration can be done on ROSS from 3 February 2017.

KEEP YOU STUDENT CARD

You are required to present your current student card at registration.  It will be updated with a new sticky layer.  If you do not keep your card you will have to obtain a replacement card and pay the standard card replacement fee.

CONFIRM YOUR 2017 CURRICULUM ON ROSS

If you do this timeously your Dean will have time to check it and you will be able to avoid the curriculum approval queues completely.  Your administrative registration certificate will confirm that your curriculum has been approved and that you do not need to attend curriculum approval unless you wish to change your choices.  This needs to be done before 1 February when the system will be closed for the Deans to approve the pre-registrations.

LATE REGISTRATION

All students whose courses being on Monday, 20 Feburary 2017 will be charged a late registration fee if they have not administratively registered AND have had their curriculum approval completed by 12h00 on Saturday, 18 Feburary 2017.  the curriculum approval schedule for returning students (undergraduate and post-graduate) is set out in the table above.

The fee will be waived only in exceptional circumstances. Reasons which would be acceptable would be such as those which would lead to a successful aegrotat examination application. Requests for a fee waiver, together with supporting documentation, should be addressed to the Manager: Academic Administration.

If you are in residence you MUST advise the University that your are going to be arriving late or you will lose your place in residence.

You are reminded that students are not allowed to start courses after the end of the second week of lectures so your late registration cannot be later than 3 March 2017.

CHECKING REGISTRATION

It is always wise to check your registration on ROSS to double-check the subjects you have registered for.  If you need to change your subjects you can do so at the Dean’s Office or by seeing an adviser in the Academic Administrative Office.  However Science and Pharmacy students are always required to change courses with the Dean.
