Rhodes University Old Rhodian Union Bursaries

The Old Rhodian Union (ORU) Committee administers the bursary programme. Annually it awards a number of bursaries to students at Rhodes University who are children and grandchildren of Old Rhodians (including Rhodes University staff members). In 2010 17 Bursaries were awarded totalling R129,000. The bursaries range between R5000 and R10 000 per recipient.

Sponsoring a bursary is not only a meaningful way of giving something back in return for the opportunities you have enjoyed in life, it’s a way of positively influencing the future of our country – ensuring that tomorrow’s leaders are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in commerce, education, law, journalism, science and sociology.

An award ceremony is held during the second term to present the awards to successful applicants.
