Sappi (South African Pulp and Paper Industries Ltd) was found in 1936 and has been a global operation in pulp and paper production. Headquartered in Johannesburg, Sappi was once the largest of dissloving wood pulp in the world. The main products of the company are pulp, paper products, forest and timber products and chemical cellulose for Southern Africa and export markets.

Requirements For Bursary

Sappi bursaries has several requirements for all applicants to adhere and those requirements are:

  • Applicants must be South African citizens
  • Applicants must obtain an average of 70%-80% in Mathematics (not Maths literacy), 70%-80% in Physical Science and 65% in English. Applicants with an average of 75% and above in Mathematics and Physical Science will be given preference
  • Applicants must reach qualifying points to register at the desired university or acceptance letter from university
  • Undergraduate students will be considered based on the current academics results

Applying For Bursary

Sappi bursaries is open from August to September every year. To apply for Sappi bursaries, interested candidates can mail their latest CV, motivational letter of applying for the bursaries and copy of latest academic results (Grdae 12 or transcripts from university) to:
