Telkom Bursaries: Undergraduate and School Grants

Telkom SA SOC Ltd. Is now providing Telkom bursaries and school grants for talented South African students who is willing to achieve higher education and love challenges. Specifically for school grants, the aim for the financial aid is to support students from low income families and to promote Mathematics and  science competency for high schools in rural areas. Telkom bursaries

Telkom is one of the biggest providers for wireline and wireless telecommunications in South Africa and other 37 countries in the African continent. The stakeholders are 39% owned by the state and the rest is privatised.

Available Fields of Study

  • University bursaries for undergraduate

B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Light Current), B. Eng in Electronic/Electrical (Light  Current), B.Sc. Computer Science/Information Technology and B.Sc. Computer Engineering

 

  • Technikon bursaries

National Diploma in Systems Engineering, National Diploma in Information Technology and National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)

 

  • School Grants

School grants programme will be granted to deserving Grade 10, Grade  11 and Grade 12 students on an annual basis in public schools

Telkom bursaries requires all applicants with following qualifications:

  • University bursaries:

Applicants must have Grade 12 Matric Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science higher grade minimum C symbol (60%), an aggregate C (60%) and pass in English. First and second year tertiary students must obtain majors and overall avergae minimum of 60% and pass in all courses

 

  • Technikon bursaries:

Applicants must be Grade 12 with Matric certificate in Mathematics and Physical Science Higher grade minimum D symbol (50%), an aggregate D (50%) and pass in English. First and second year tertiary students must obtain Majors and overall average minimum of 60% and pass all courses

 

  • Technical College

Applicants must have Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science standard grade minimum D symbol (50%), an aggregate D (50%) and pass in English

N4 or N5 tertiary students must obtrain Majors and overal average minimum of 60% and pass all courses

 

  • School Grants

Applicants must obtain Mathematics and Science Higher Grade minimum C symbol (60%) and pass in English

The grants will include registration and tuition fees, book allowance, residence and extra tuition if any

Applying For Bursaries

Telkom bursaries application is open from March 1st-May 31st of each year and the application form can be obtained in the nearest Telkom Centre for Learning & Organisational Capacity. Please attach a copy of final Matric or tertiary results along with the application form. Send it to one of addresses written in the application form or to:
