The University currently offers financial aid to South African citizens who are financially needy and who show academic potential.The above are just a few examples of the different kinds of funding that are on offer at the University of Fort Hare. The onus is therefore on the student to apply for NSFAS Funding each year even if they applied for other bursaries. The closing date for application for financial aid is the 31st august for new students and 31st august in respect of returning students.
NSFAS Department of Education Disability bursary – University of Fort Hare Bursaries 2018

This category only cover student who wish to pursue a Bachelor Degrees in Social Work. In order for you to qualify for this bursary you need to apply at your nearest Provincial Department of Social Development.

NSFAS | final Year Donor funding – University of Fort Hare Bursaries 2018
This category only covers students who are in their Final Year of Study of their Degree or Diploma as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Please note that you may only receive this award for one full academic year.
