2019 University of the Free State (UFS) Online Registration

  • Important Registration Information
    Do you want to register at the University of the Free State, or do you want to change the modules that you have registered for? All the information you need is on our website, and we will be posting regular updates to our Facebook page with relevant information.Registration snapshot

    Before you start, keep the following in mind:
    • Registration period: 8 January – 23 February 2018
    • The system for self-service (online) registration opens on 8 January 2018

    • You will need an active UFS student number
    • All prepayment fees must be paid five (5) working days before registration
    • Please check the module and venue timetables before you register, to avoid timetable clashes
    • You can follow the registration steps or register online.

    Important dates
    University reopens: 2 January 2018
    Self-service registration opens: 8 January 2018
    Academic advice: 29 January – 2 February 2018 and 12-16 February 2018
    Lectures start for first semester: 19 February 2018
    Self-service registration closes: 23 February 2018

    Official UFS email account
    To access your UFS email account, go to http://www.ufs4life.ac.za. Please note that the password you use to access your email account is the UFS password that the university has issued to you.

    If your password has expired or if you forgot your password, go to https://selfservice.ufs.ac.za to change it. You will receive a one-time pin code via SMS that will grant you access to change your password.

    BECOME A UFS STUDENT IN NINE (9) STEPS:

     

    Step 1: Apply online or in hard copy (written). (Undergraduate or Postgraduate)

    Step 2: Your application form is processed. You will receive a student number. If you have not submitted the required documents, you will be requested to do so in order to finalise your application.

    Step 3: You are conditionally admitted once you meet all the admission requirements.

    Step 4: If you have applied for campus residence, you will now receive correspondence from Housing and Residence Affairs.

    Step 5: If you are accepted when the final Grade 12 results become available in January 2018, you will receive a letter of acceptance.

    Step 6: You have to make prepayments five (5) days prior to registration in January 2018. Use your student number as the reference number.

    Step 7: Register during January 2018.

    Step 8: Get your study material and timetable after registration

    Step 9: All the best with your academic career at Kovsies, classes will start in February 2018.
