Vodacom, headquartered in Midrand, South Africa, was found in 1994 and is the leading public telecommunication company across the country. To date, Vodacom provides messaging, voice, data and converged services to more than 55 million people in over 40 African countries such as South Africa, Cameroon, Mozambique, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Kenya,  etc. The South African government own nearly 14% of Vodacom shares, Vodacom 65% and 21% by others. Vodacom is the pioneer of the famous Yebo Gogo campaign and has been the sponsor of sports teams and events in the country. Currently, Vodacom is the top player in cellular network business with approximately 58% of market share and over 23 million customers.

Available Fields of Study

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, National Diploma in Information Technology, National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (LC), National Diploma in Computer Engineering, National Diploma in Accounting, National Diploma in Financial Info Systems.

Criterion For Bursaries

Vodacom bursaries has several criterion for the applicants to adhere and those are:

–              Applicants are South African citizens

–              Applicants are willing or currently studying in fields of study mentioned above

–              Applicants must have B symbol or above in Mathematics and Science

–              Applicants with achievements/awards will be given preference

–              Current Matriculant only needs to provide copy of Grade 11 final examinations results

Selected students will be notified and interviewed in further process. The Vodacom bursaries only awarded for the following year and recommend students to apply to at least two university

Applying For Bursaries

Vodacom bursaries open from 1 March – 30 June of each year. A Passport-sized photograph must be glued on the top right hand of the front page also attach a copy of South African ID, complete academic results or percentage of examinations, copy of other funding for education (if any). Attaching original documents will result in disqualification. The application form can be downloaded here:
