Western TVET College Courses Offered

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE VOCATIONAL(NCV):
Level 2 to Level 4

These programmes are intended to respond directly to the skills demand of the SOUTH AFRICAN economy

The qualifications are designed to provide both THEORY and PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE in this vocational field and are recommended for students that would like to pursue a career in VOCATIONAL directive studies.

External examination are written annually in November and certificates are issued by the Department of Higher Education and Training.UMALUSI issues the certificates.

Certificate consist of 7 subjects:
Fundamental Subjects are compulsory:
1. English – First Additional Language (FAL)
2. Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
3. Life Orientation – include Computer Literacy
Vocational Subjects:
Four Vocational subjects are chosen according to the preferred field of study.

This programme is recommended for students that would like to pursue a career in TECHNICAL or ENGINEERING RELATED studies

External examination are written in March, July and November and certificates are issued by the Department of Higher Education.UMALUSI issued the certificates.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (SDC)

The Skills Development Centre is part of the Academic Division of Westcol and is based on the Randfontein Campus. This division is responsible for the development and training of the following areas:

Learning opportunities through Occupational Directed Studies.

Hairdressing Level 2 to 4

Learnerships and Skills training through partnerships
