The Advanced Diploma is offered to a student with a National Diploma in Accounting to allow a student to bridge from a National Diploma to Honours in either Taxation or Internal Auditing, should they meet the minimum requirements for the Honours in either Taxation or Internal Auditing programme.

Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.

An appropriate Diploma in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent, with modules on NQF level 6 in the fields of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation,
or
an appropriate Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent, with modules on NQF level 6 in in the fields of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation,
or
any Bachelor’s degree and a completed Advanced Certificate in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent.

Additional support for this qualification via TVET colleges

Unisa has an agreement with various Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges to offer classes in a selected number of qualifications. These classes have proved to generally improve the throughput rate of students who enroll for them.

Is an advanced diploma equivalent to a degree?

An Advanced Diploma or a Postgraduate Diploma is a type of qualification that is similar to a degree but often with more of a focus on career-centric or vocational training.

This means you’ll be getting a lot of practical hours and experience with the course material.
