Details Of Mercedes-Benz Learning Academy Apprentice Training 2017 / 2018

Our apprenticeship programs span between 3 to 4 years. They are designed for learners with an interest in a technical career.  Most applicants will have attended a technical high school or would have studied maths and technical subjects at an academic school or TVET college.

We offer two streams of apprenticeship. The first is automotive related, where learners choose between an Automotive Electrician and Motor Mechanic.  The second is more plant and equipment oriented, where trade options include Millwright, Electrician or Fitter and Turner. These learners would typically be seeking a career as an artisan maintaining complex machinery in a production facility or mechanised plant.

The Mercedes-Benz Learning Academy is both an accredited training provider and trade test centre. Accordingly, learners are offered concentrated theory and practical exposure. This includes plant and work-place rotations right through to their final qualification in their trade of choice.   Unemployed learners are paid a stipend for the duration of their training to help with transport and meal costs – an onsite canteen is available – and are also provided with the necessary protective equipment as required in the maintenance workshop environment.
