INTRODUCTION

During this short learning programme the student will learn the fundamental skills to function effectively in an administrative or secretarial capacity. The role of the office professional is explored by looking at the characteristics of an excellent office employee and common office support functions. Interpersonal Relationships and organisational communication will equip the student to deal with or eliminate barriers to communication, and to act sensitively to different cultural needs in terms of communication. Furthermore, the student will be equipped with an understanding of the basic procedures when it comes to arranging business travel, keeping records and financial documents.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Office administrators and secretaries who have no formal training or certification
  • Those who wish to update their knowledge and skills in this field.

DURATION

Lectures are conducted once a week in the evening or on a Saturday morning over 15 weeks

PROGRAMME MATERIAL

The short learning programme fee includes all programme material, which becomes the property of the student. This material constitutes a valuable source of on-going reference.

PROGRAMME EVALUATION

Students will be required to submit two assignments.
