NWU FM 105.5 is a campus based community radio station that has been on air since September 2011. The two target market groups of the station are:

What We Do

We broadcast youth oriented content that consists of cutting edge music, current affairs, news and lifestyle shows. According to the South African Audience Research Foundation (SAARF) latest statistics released in August 2014, NWU FM broadcasts to 86 000 listeners which comprise students and the broader community. As students are a significant part of our listenership, it is a given that during vacations, listenership will decrease hence the December 2014 RAMS indicate that we are currently at 59 000 listeners.
