UCT International Students Scholarships

International Scholarships International Honours, Master’s & PhD students/applicants are advised that the university offers scholarships to deserving international applicants. Applications must be made via the Post Graduate Centre & Funding OfficeThe closing date is 31 July of the year preceding study.

For Honours. Postgraduate Diploma and Coursework Master’s students there are also bursaries available which will reduce the International Term Fee and these are awarded at the discretion of the Faculty Dean based on academic merit, financial need and faculty requirements. (International terms of payment will still apply). Please apply at the relevant Faculty Office.

Postgraduate Funding Office

UCT’s Postgraduate Funding Office (PGFO) offers a limited number of scholarships for international postgraduate students. While UCT undertakes to assist as many students as possible, the scholarships are not guaranteed.

To apply for a UCT PGFO scholarship, you need to have been accepted for study. You should then attach your acceptance letter, together with other relevant documents as prescribed by the PFO, to your application. The closing date for submission of applications is 31 July each year for funding in the subsequent year.

Please note that the international postgraduate scholarships are not full-cost scholarships, therefore you would still have to ensure that you come to South Africa with enough money to cover your tuition, accommodation and general living costs.
