Japan/South Africa Call for Joint Research Projects 2018

On 28 August 2003, South Africa signed an agreement on cooperation in science and technology with Japan, followed two years later by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) as implementing agencies. The implementation of this MoU led to annual cycles of joint research funding between the two countries. The NRF is hereby pleased to announce the 12th call for supporting 2-year joint research projects (starting from January 2018 and ending December 2019) in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.

All South African applications must be submitted through an online application process to the NRF at https://nrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za. A detailed call document is attached.

Call opens: 1 June 2017

Call closes: 6 September 2017
