2018 IEC Internship Opportunity

The Independent Electoral Commission is looking to hire a recent graduate with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.
The Intern: Finance will contribute towards the efficient co-ordination of finance projects in the Organization. The Intern reports to the Assistant Manager: Finance

Key performance areas:
Financial Administration:– Capture requisitions check correctness of submitted documents, rental accounts and submit regular reports and handle incoming telephone calls.
Supply Chain:– Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to procurement of goods and services, Obtain quotations and follow up on submission of invoices, Complete procurement forms in purchasing of standard office goods, Stock control office stationery, Keep and maintain the asset register of the office, coordinate submission of assets and submit quarterly reports
General Administrative support services:– Record, organize, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data; Update registers and statistics, handle routine enquiries, make photocopies, send and receive facsimiles, distribute documents/packages to various stakeholders as required. Keep and maintain the filing system for the office, Keep and maintain incoming and outgoing correspondence of the component and coordinate logistics of meetings.Assist with selected duties so as to obtain exposure to electoral operations and financial administrative and procurement matters, etc.Requirements
Basic requirements: The successful candidate for this position must have Matric/ N3 plus degree / National Diploma in Finance.

Knowledge of clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data; Knowledge of working procedures in terms of the work environment; Computer collecting statistics.

The candidate must possess good communication skills (verbal and written and interpersonal skills. The person must be computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel; SAP (will be an added advantage).
