IT Technical Assistant

An exciting opportunity exist for a suitably qualified and skilled individual to join the IT Infrastructure Department in IT division at Corporate Office.
 
Key Performance Outputs
 
The successful candidate, reporting to the Chief Information Officer will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage related projects initiated in the office of the Chief Information Officer including and reporting on the implementation of strategic IT projects/programmes.
  • Manage, coordinate and report on all activities of the IT Transformation Office.
  • Proactively track, manage, follow up and report on the status of the IT projects/deliverables due to the Chief Information Officer, and other IT and ACSA governance structures (in coordination with ACSA Programme and Project Managers).
  • Conduct relevant research and prepare quality reports, presentations and/or relevant governance committee submissions on behalf of the Chief Information Officer.
  • Proactively coordinate, monitor and facilitate communication and the flow of tasks and assignments between Chief Information Officer and Senior Managers and other IT Staff, and also between IT and external stakeholders.
  • Structure and maintain an appropriate management information/reporting system for the Chief Information Officer and ensure all relevant stakeholders receive timely and accurate information related to the Chief Information officer offices including coordination/preparation of submissions to ACSA corporate governance structures.
  • Review budgeted vs actual IT expenditure in collaboration with Senior Managers and IT Administrators and reconcile key account expenditure with unexplained/unplanned variances reported to Senior Managers and the Chief Information Officer.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent thereof, will be required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Project Management/Informatics
  • 5 years operational experience in program and project management and executive support, information technology operations, information analysis, document management and tracking and report writing.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Viso.

The candidate must have good verbal communication skills, set definite milestones and actions for achieving goals. Furthermore, it is vital that the candidate is able to recognise the value of teamwork and can pull people together for a common purpose.
