Key Performance Outputs:

  • Drive close collaboration with Airport Management Regulatory & Quality Assurance functions to ensure aviation aspects are integrated with OHS procedures
  • Develop and implement OHS compliance standards and develop plans based on frameworks and guidelines to ensure compliance to airport license requirements; international standards, national and local legislation, together with ACSA policy and procedures
  • Align with Integrated Planning function to understand Macro, Meso and Micro plans and impacts.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to local and international regulatory requirements, organizational standards, policies and procedure, in particular OHSAct, Construction Regulations, ICAO and CAA
  • Advising and reporting to airport operations management on procedural and legal requirements in respect of SHE environmental functions. Provide technical/ professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of organizational objectives
  • Investigation and reporting of incidents and accidents; design and implementation of remedial action
  • Plan and implement safety inspections and audits in line with the requirements for Safety Management System in accordance with ICAO and SACAA.
  • Ensure SMS, HIRA, EMS procedures are implemented, adhered and approved. Manage the legislated OHSACT safety appointments for ACSA
  • Plan, organize, lead subordinate€™s activities and Manage people development initiatives
  • Develop and implement OPEX budget; Track, monitor and report on expenditure

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • The successful candidate must have a Master€™s Degree in Safety and Compliance or equivalent
  • The candidate must possess 8-10 years of Operational experience in the Safety area.
  • Management experience of 5 years in the Compliance area is essential
  • Knowledge of NKP legislation, Civil aviation, OHS ACT, ICAO and CAA
  • Intermediate Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications
