How to Apply Learnership at Standard Bank

Standard Bank invites applications for IT Technical Support, Finance Business Services, Entry Level, IT Systems Development, Universal Banking as well as Corporate & Investment Banking Operations learnerships available in various areas across the country.

1. IT Technical Support

The IT Technical Support Learnership programme is targeted specifically at creating a pipeline for Technical Support officers within Standard Bank. Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Technical Support (NQF 4) as well as apply the necessary practical aspects of their learnings

2. Finance Business Services

Successful candidates will be required to sign an 18 month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership agreement. Upon successful completion, candidates will obtain a recognised Core Banking and Financial Services (NQF 5) qualification

3. Entry Level

The learnership is a 12 month programme which will allocate successful candidates to various areas in the bank where they will be spending time applying their learning, when they are not formally or informally engaged in training activities. Upon successful completion, candidates will obtain a recognised Core Banking and Financial Services (NQF 5) qualification

4. IT Systems Development

The IT Systems Developer Learnership programme is targeted specifically at creating a pipeline for Developers within Standard Bank. Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Systems Development as well as apply the necessary practical aspects of their learnings.

5. Corporate & Investment Banking Operations

The Operations Learnership programme is a learnership programme targeted at an entry level role within the Corporate & Investment Banking Operations area in the Bank. Upon successful completion, candidates will obtain a recognised Core Banking and Financial Services (NQF 5) qualification.

6. Universal Banking

The learnership is an 18 month programme which will allocate successful candidates to the Frontline and Bureau de Change area in the bank where they will be spending time applying their learning, when they are not formally or informally engaged in training activities. Upon successful completion, candidates will obtain a recognised Core Banking and Financial Services (NQF 5) qualification

Requirements

The candidate must:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 30
  • Be able to speak, read and write English
  • Have completed Matric orĀ a BCom IT/Informatics or Bcom Finance or BSC Computer Sciences or Industrial Engineering or BSC Applied Mathematics or Bcom Information Systems or Bcom Financial Risk Management or Diploma in IT Security or any post-Matric 2-3 year IT qualification
  • Be computer literate
  • Not be permanently employed
  • Not be studying at any other institution
  • Not be registered on any other learnership.
