CPUT 2017 Summer Graduation

Completed your degree? Congratulations!

Students who are eligible to graduate will receive official invitations to their graduation ceremonies containing details of their ceremony, how to get a gown, and how to organise for photographs.

Venues

Major Sports Hall, Bellville Campus

Dates

Graduation ceremonies are held three times a year, in April, September and December.

Summer graduation takes place on 12 – 15 December 2017.

What to wear

Students and guests must dress formally. All graduates must wear academic attire. T Birch and Co will be available on campus during the graduation period for students to hire or purchase academic attire from them.

Photographs

Gordon Harris Photographic has been appointed by the University to photograph all candidates on receipt of their awards. They offer various packages including family/ studio photographs and on-stage photographs.

Graduates are not allowed to bring their own photographers to the ceremony.

Guests

Regrettably no children are allowed. Two (2) guests per student will be allowed.

Streaming

All graduation ceremonies are streamed live at http://live.cput.ac.za.

If you cannot attend

Students who cannot attend the ceremony must write to Assessment and Graduation Centre to indicate that they will not attend. Students who cannot attend can receive their diploma/ degree in the following ways:

  • By collecting it in person from the Assessment and Graduation Centre (proof of identity is required).
  • By delegating someone to collect it from the Assessment and Graduation Centre (proof of identity and a letter of consent signed by the graduate is required).
  • By requesting for the diploma/ degree to be mailed by registered mail.
