Deputy Minister strengthens TVET College education offerings

Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana during the Education Sunday launch

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana launched the #EducationSunday Programme at Oasis Church in Umlazi Township, Durban. Manana said the Programme’s objective is to encourage and guide young people on different career paths offered at TVET colleges to attain vocational skills that help to create job opportunities. To assist the Education Committee he committed 20 bursaries for best performing learners from disadvantaged families who qualify to study a programme that forms part in the 100 National Scarce Skills such as Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quality Surveyor, Mechanical Engineer etc. he further donated R100 000 to the Church’s Education Committee. The aim is to assist young people, make a difference in their lives and break poverty chain in families.
