Job description
The successful candidate will join our small but turbo-charged finance team and will work closely with our financial manager and shared services team in looking after the R&Y group of companies and helping build a scalable, well-governed financial infrastructure to serve a fast-growing and highly ambitious business. We embrace change and new technologies in everything we do, and the financial accountant will play a critical role in helping identify and implement initiatives to ensure our finance team remains world-class.

At the outset, your duties would include the following:
- Daily cashbook processing and reconciliation
- Monthly credit card reconciliations
- Issuing purchase orders on request
- Managing creditor function:
- Account reconciliation
- Invoice processing
- Age analysis monitoring
- Preparing and uploading payments batches for authorisation
- Managing payment forecasting
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Maintenance of supplier accounts and vendor applications
- Reconciliation of control accounts and clearance accounts
- Reconciliation of intercompany charges and accounts
- Maintenance of B-BBEE procurement policy
- Ad-hoc journal processing and account maintenance
- Ad-hoc requests from management and reporting requirements
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in finance, accounting (e.g. BCom, BCompt, BBusSci)
- Must have completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
IT systems:
- Experience with Xero (advantageous)
- Proficient in Excel (up to pivot table level)
- Comfortable with Google Docs (advantageous)
- Knowledge of cloud based accounting (advantageous)
