Job description

Essentials Magazine, one of South Africa’s most influential brands which has an already-established and highly-engaged readership currently seeks a talented and motivated beauty and health writer. A beauty and health aficionado with an insatiable appetite for all things beauty & health related. We’re looking for a seasoned Writer with experience across print and digital. The position requires an individual who has a keen understanding of the brand and who will demonstrate the drive, willingness and passion to ‘live the brand’. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to write health copy for print and online
• Write beauty features on a range of topics from makeup to skincare and hair for print and online
• Coordinate beauty shoots
• Develop and write editorial copy across all touch points and manage current copy workflow and process.
• Lead product launches from an editorial perspective.
• Represent the brand at health and beauty functions

 Essential requirements

• Undergraduate degree in communications, Journalism or relevant alternative
• Four+ years of professional experience writing and editing copy in the beauty industry.
• Experience working with designers, marketing/social strategists and producers to deliver content in all forms across any and all platforms.
