HELLO community festival calls for submissions 2017

HELLO – Community Arts Development Programme and Festival 2017 announces its call for submissions.

If you are a community-based artist or arts organisation in the City of Tshwane, specialising in any of the following art disciplines: theatre, performing arts, visual arts, performing arts technology, drama, music, hip-hop, dance, poetry and/or comedy, and interested in being part of this year’s programme, please e-mail: mgcodowt@tut.ac.za Cc: pearlemohale@gmail.com for applications.

The Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Entertainment Technology, in partnership with different role players within the arts fraternity, launched “HELLO”, a Community Arts Development Programme and Festival, in 2014. The project’s aim is to expand the boundaries of arts by interacting with local and emerging community artists and organisations.

The HELLO Community Arts Development Programme will again conduct various training, interactive support and development sessions with the community arts organisations and artists, the theme being “Leadership in the Arts.”

The HELLO Community Arts Festival will showcase a variety of interactive art installations and performances from the participating community arts groups and artists, endorsing the project’s motto, “For and by the community.”

The deadline for submissions is 28 April 2017.
