HR Professional body recognises CPUT’s students

The South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) has recognized CPUT HR students who excelled academically in 2017 with certificates.

SABPP CEO Marius Meyer awarded Reshona Mehl and Blessing Gurure with the SABPP University Award for outstanding academic achievement in the National Diploma and BTech levels, respectively.

The HR Management Department at CPUT has also retained its full SABPP accreditation for all its academic offerings in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The professional body commended the department for upholding HR professional standards in curriculum development and practice.

During the department’s recent advisory committee meeting on the Granger Bay Campus attended by academics, industry employers and the CPUT SABPP HR Student Chapter, they were praised for their sterling work done to retain the accreditation.

The CPUT Student Chapter, the only one in the Western Cape, presented their plan for the year which aims to organise activities that will increase the awareness of the chapter as well as professionalise students.

The department reported that 2017 saw a hike in the number of Work Integrated Learning (WIL)  placements.
