Introduction…

Reporting to the Procurement Manager the Technical Buyer will be responsible for Procuring goods and services and ensure the full procurement process is completed on time and within budget.

Minimum Requirements…

Experience and Qualifications
 Post matric qualification in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management with up to five years working experience in the marine industry, in a similar or same role will be advantageous.

 Highly professional, honest, problem-solver and planner, who strives to work towards deadlines, ensuring quality and best price and excellent customer service who works with integrity.
 An excellent verbal and written communicator, who networks, negotiates and follows due processes as set in terms of Company Standards and legislation. A team-player, who is able to take instruction, manage processes and delegate tasks as required. The incumbent must be able to deal with all levels in the organisation and diversity.

Job Specification…

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
 Ensure the processing of purchase / service / repair requests for technical stores and equipment as requested for vessels or facilities.
 Manage the full process of all quotations for approval by end client through the Head of Procurement.
 Liaise with Stores to ensure deliveries, and requirements for collections and delivery of equipment for repair.
 Compile a packing list of instructions, for effective processing by Main Store and Admin Co-ordinator
 Delegate and manage the process of purchase / service / repair order compilation with the Admin Co-ordinator
 Liaise with service providers and suppliers in terms of standard of service, good supplied, negotiation of discounts for bulk purchasing.
 Must have strong negotiation skills.
 Maintain supplier relationships to improve supplier performance of deliveries, communication as quality.
 Must have experience in MS Office.
