Permit Officer

 An exciting vacancy exists at Port Elizabeth International Airport for a dedicated Permit Officer within the Airport Management division.

Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate, reporting to the Supervisor Permit Office, will be responsible for the following:
  • Receive permit applications and administer according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Activation, deactivation and cancellation of access control permits according to system indications.
  • Issuing of access control permits according to permit office policy and schedule.
  • Verify documents, authorized signatures and company registrations to ensure compliance to company policy and procedure.
  • Receive and perform transactions for cash, card and account payments for applications. Manage petty cash, perform reconciliation and Bank received funds
  • Operate according to ICAO, NKP,NASP (National Aviation Security Program), Airport security program (ASP), and SACAA (Civil Aviation Act) and other relevant Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures.
  • Assess and report all faulty equipment and systems.
  • Build and maintain sound internal and external stakeholder / customer relations whilst balancing enforcement with professionalism
 
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:
  • Valid Matric (Garde 12) qualification
  •  Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Garde C
  •  National Key Point Certification
  •  SACAA Screener Certification
  •  3 Years’ aviation security operations experience
  •  Basic knowledge of Ms Office Package
  • Code B driver’s license will be advantageous

This position calls for a candidate with good verbal and written communication skills, detail orientated as well as good customer service skills. Furthermore, the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate good planning skills and be able to pay attention to detail. The candidate must be able to manage time and act in line with dominant values of the organization.
