The Ink Fish Print Studio in Pretoria is looking for a new print production designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a diploma/higher certificate or just rad skills in graphic design and problem-solving capabilities. Experience will be beneficial but not a must. You need to have the right attitude, be willing to learn, friendly and up for a challenge. Attitude trumps experience by far! Be cool! Software skills are essential. We expect you to know your way around the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office like a boss!
Your daily duties will include the following:
- Deal with walk-in clients at the retail shopfront
- Do ad-hoc design work
- Do client and in-house printing
- Create quotations and invoices
- Do production finishing – cutting, packaging, weeding, glueing, bookmaking etc.
- Prepare artwork for print
- Manage stock levels of paper, ink, toner and other consumables
- Take direction from the shop manager and other staff
- Deal with suppliers on a regular basis
- Book couriers for package pick-ups and deliveries
- Do the odd delivery from time to time
- Be an admin guru!
Software/technical musts!
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Powerpoint
- Work on Mac and Windows platforms
Other
- You need to have a licence
- You must be able to understand Afrikaans and English
- You need to be able to spell like a ninja!
