REDUCTIVE-WOODCUT WORKSHOP – WARREN EDITIONS, JOHANNESBURG
In the reductive-woodcut workshop an image is simplified to the essential tones. To do so the participant will carve and print one woodblock successively to represent the identified tones.
The instructor will teach this technique while sharing carving tips and demonstrating the method of printing with ink onto paper via an etching press and printing by hand. Afterward, the participant can continue practicing the technique at home because no press is needed.
