Standard Bank of South Africa Qumbu Branch Learnership 2017 /2018

The Banking Skills Academy learnership programme provide opportunities for South African youth to gain practical working experience and theoretical knowledge of the financial services industry. The programme runs overs a 12 month period and students will receive an allowance of R2 500 a month.

Students will be required to sign a fixed-term employment contract with Standard Bank for the duration of the programme, as well as a learnership contract. On completion of the programme, learners will acquire a NQF level 4 qualification: National Certificate in Banking.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • South African citizen/ permanent resident
  • Completed Matric
  • Passed Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy in Matric
  • Passed Accounting in Matric
  • Between 18 and 30 years old
  • Good command of the English language – writing, reading and speaking
  • Computer literate
  • Not currently employed
  • Not studying (or planning to study) during the course of the learnership programme
  • Not registered on another learnership programme
  • Clear credit record
  • Clear criminal record

HOW TO APPLY

Application is a 4 step process:
-Step 1: Complete the online application form via the Standard Bank website: http://www.standardbank.co.za/pages/StandardBankGroup/web/SAbankingSkills.html
-Step 2: Complete the online assessment – you will need to achieve a minimum score of 60% to pass the assessment.
-Step 3: Applicants who pass the assessment will then be contacted to complete competency based assessments, this will determine whether you are suitable for the roles needed to perform during the learnership programme.
-Step 4: If you pass all of the previous 3 steps, you will be required to attend a face-to-face interview.
