Ultra Heavy Vehicle Driver Needed

We have a great opportunity at Unitrans in Rustenburg for code 14 drivers that will be driving a vehicle that exceeds 25 000 kg (regid or articulated) Please view job spec for more details.

Key Performance Areas

• Prepare vehicle for trip and operate heavy duty vehicles
• Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
• All other reasonable instructions from Supervisor
• Prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Safe driving record and clean criminal record
• Must have own reliable transport to and from work

Education and Experience

• Grade 10 Literacy level
• Code 14 driver’s license. Valid PrDP
• Five years articulated driving experience

Skills and Knowledge

• Medically fit
• Defensive driving
• Driver actions regarding to weather/road/traffic conditions
• Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects
• Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher
• Eaton Fuller gearbox and ZF gearbox driving
• Road Traffic Act (i.e. operating a vehicle)
• Vehicle loading techniques
• Maximizing vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
• Function and location of vehicle components
