MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively.
JOB SUMMARY:
Machine installation including leveling and alignment
Faultfinding and problem solving on Packaging and manufacturing machinery
Carrying out size change-overs and settings on Packaging machines
Identify deviations and non-conforming items on Packaging equipment
Assess exactly what steps to take to rectify the root cause of these deviations and non-conformances
Complete work to an exceptional standard as well as identify any further potential problems that might be visible
Involved in WCM/ TPM activities. Works within defined Engineering and SHE Policies and Standards
Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own team carries out the plant repairs. Responsible for focus improvements and breakdowns within unit of responsibility
Manage reduction of breakdowns in his area of responsibility by analysing breakdowns, complying with the PPM requirement and implementing Continuous improvements
Participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance and breakdown reduction benefits (RCM)
Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOP’s
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
N3 Mechanical AND Trade Test Fitter & Turner/ Fitter
3 years Fitter & Turner experience in FMCG and Manufacturing
Turning and milling (machining) to manufacture basic components in-house
Arc and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas/ Gas Tungsten Arc) welding
Extensive conveyor system experience in warehouse environment will be an advantage
