University of Fort Hare Lecturer: Afrikaans Vacancy 2019

Job Description:

Lecturer: AFRIKAANS: EAST LONDON CAMPUS: REF NO.  1146 

SALARY: R 465 504 – R 578 463 (All-inclusive package)

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Possession of a Master’s degree in Afrikaans; a PhD in Afrikaans will be an added advantage;
  • Basic theoretical knowledge of the field.
  • 3 years university teaching experience with proven research output.
  • Potential to undertake academic administrative responsibilities at departmental level.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects
  • Sound interpersonal skills.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Teaching in the identified area of specialization;
  • Refining curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
  • Participation in community engagement;
  • Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects;
  • Producing academic publications, especially accredited ones.
