WHO WE ARE

Aeronav Academy is a well known and long established name in the aviation training industry in South Africa. At Aeronav we strive to provide our clients with safe, quality flight training, a fleet of well maintained modern aircraft, a ground school staffed with highly qualified lecturers and a team of dedicated staff who will always go the extra mile to ensure flight training is conducted seamlessly in a professional and friendly environment.

Based at Lanseria International Airport, just North of Johannesburg, gives our students the best of both worlds. Not only will you be training in a beautiful, scenic environment but you will also be training at one of the busiest airports in South Africa. The experience gained from learning to fly in an environment where you will be operating at a fully controlled airport amongst heavy commercial traffic and in controlled airspace not only gives our students access to a host of facilities which are not available at smaller less equipped airfields but also gives our students the confidence they will need to successfully transition to a career in aviation.

We are very proud to offer one of the most modern training fleets in South Africa. The aircraft on our fleet were carefully selected so that we can offer safe, efficient and cost effective training on aircraft that are not only of a high quality but that are also fun and enjoyable to fly. Our primary fleet consists of our basic trainer which is the Diamond DA20 Eclipse, the DA20 is an internationally utilised basic trainer and is statistically the safest single engine trainer in the world. All multi-engine training is done on the Diamond DA42 Twinstar. The Twinstar is a phenomenal aircraft more than capable of meeting all multi-engine training needs in comfort and in style. For those who prefer older generation training aircraft we also have the Cessna 172 and Cessna 182 available to compliment our training fleet of modern composite aircraft.

Aeronav Academy offers flight and ground school training for the Private Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License, Airline Transport Pilot License, Flight Instructor Rating, Multi-Engine Rating, Instrument Rating, Foreign Pilot License Conversions, Validations and hour building. Whether you choose to fly for pleasure or you wish to make a career as a pilot Aeronav can provide you with and approved course tailored to your specific needs.

Aeronav Academy Accomodation

Aeronav does not offer accommodation to students as one of our services however there are a number of places nearby to Lanseria Airport that offer both short-term and long-term accommodation.

Touch of Africa Lodge is located only a few hundred meters from the Southern entrance of the Lanseria Airport offering guests a comfortable home away from home. The lodge is a popular choice of accommodation for pilots, engineers, inspectors, training students, and like minded people. Aeronav Academy Admission For Foreign Student

Many foreigners choose to complete flight training in South Africa for a number of reasons. In some instances it is more cost effective than in their home countries and with South Africa’s all year round good weather and scenic landscape make it a great choice of country to do flight training in.

There are a number of requirements foreign students need to comply with in order to train with Aeronav Academy.

Enrol: Firstly you will need to enrol with Aeronav Academy. This can be done by contacting us regarding the course you would like to complete. We will send you the necessary information regarding the cost and requirements of this course as well as an enrolment form and an indemnity form.
Secure you spot: We require an R50 000.00 (ZAR) deposit upfront for all Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License courses.
Obtain a student visa: Only once we have received the abovementioned deposit and completed enrolment & indemnity form we will we issue a letter of acceptance and visa letter in order for the student to obtain the necessary South African Student visa. Please note Visa requirements are different from country to country and it is the student’s responsibility to ensure all of the correct documents are submitted in order to obtain the required visa.
Start Training: There are no specific intake dates, you may join Aeronav Academy at any time as all of our students are trained on a one on one basis and receive personalised training specific to their needs.For further information please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@aeronav.co.za.

Whether you are just starting your private pilot license or working towards your airline transport pilot license Aeronav will have the study material you will need to assist you in successfully passing your exams.

All of our books have been compiled by experienced people with exceptional knowledge in their field and are updated and revised regularly to ensure that they are in line with the South African Civil Aviation Authority approved syllabus. This ensures that our customers receive the most up to date, relevant and comprehensive study manuals available.

Our study manuals are available in black & white or in colour and are manufactured at our premises so they are always available to order or to walk-in-customers. They are available in full sets or can be purchased individually to further cater for your specific needs.

We not only provide notes for the individual but also cater for flight schools and other professionals in the Aviation Industry by customising our notes to include company logos to suite your companies needs.
